Dear Candlewood Lion Members,
Brrrr! This is not the most pleasant weather but spring is only 6 weeks away. We were fortunate to have our January evening meeting at the Sculpture Barn hosted by Carter and David Boyajian. What a wonderful evening. The food catered by Bruno’s in New Fairfield, was outstanding. David gave us a great glimpse of an artist and we welcomed a new member Dave Sinnott from Brookfield who was sponsored by Jean Knopf. Unfortunately ill health prevented Lion Fran Allan and Lion Kris Hodge from attending and we wish them speedy recoveries. I have also received a message from Lion Alice Hoxie which is as follows:
Dear Lion President Bob, Thank you for remembering me with the lovely Christmas centerpiece from you and my fellow Lions. The snowman container and candles looked beautiful on the table in the Bethel Rehabilitation Center where my entire family celebrated with me. It was a very different kind of holiday! A special thank you to Lion Othella for choosing and picking up the arrangement. I have greatly appreciated all the cards, visits, and calls. They have made my recuperation so much more tolerable. I have been staying with my daughter Jennifer and her family for the past three weeks after two weeks at Bethel Rehab. On Saturday my son Rob will drive me to New Jersey where my sister Marybeth awaits me. Then I will finally come home around the 12th of February. I look forward to seeing all of you soon. Once again thank you for your good wishes and prayers. I have made a remarkable recovery from paralysis and am grateful for the progress. God has been good. Yours in Lionism, Lion Alice
I’m sure we will be seeing all of these great Lions soon. I’d also like to thank Lion John Hodge for picking up and returning the chairs for the last meeting.
Lion Rob Farella has updated our website so please take a look and if you have any suggestions to make it better let Lion Rob know.
