Dear Candlewood Lion Members,
I can't believe I'm writing our President's Pen, it seems like yesterday that I was asked to join Our Candlewood Club, without ever wanting to get politically involved. Well, here I am up to my neck in what I have grown to enjoy best..... being a Lion. This is a Club to be proud of, our deeds and our History.
I would personally like to thank our Past President Jean Knopf for the exceptional two year she served, the on going Committee Chairs our Board and all our members for their involvement in our many Clubs Functions.
My Presidency will be a Magical one, with a November 10, 2007 two Show Magic Gala at New Fairfield High School.
We will be hosting our annual a Chili Contest on October 6 and Car Rally on October 14.
December will be our Green Chimney's Christmas Party, with a few new Magicians.
Plans for early 2008 are in development and under discussion is a Country Western Dance and our annual Wine Tasting.
I look to you all for a fun time year, one that we will all be involved in, and one to be proud of as always.

Special Note from Othella Mayes
Dear Fellow Lions! Thank you for your many kindnesses to me over the past year. My birthday surprise party was a delight, complete with balloons and cake. What a happy memory! You were also there for me when my only child, Mike, was suddenly taken from me. Your cards and prayers, as well as the beautiful plant, were very much appreciated at an extremely difficult time. I shall always be grateful for your Lionistic thoughtfulness. With Thanks, Lion Othella Mayes
