"One World, One Heart ... Building a Better Tomorrow"

Harvest Greetings, Candlewood Lions!

Chili Festival III was a "hot" success with a record $635 raised and more than 70 "tasters" and "voters" on hand.  To Chairman Lion Bob Gyle, Lion Rob, Lion Fred, Lion Norma,  Lion Othella, Lions Kris and John, Lion Tracy, Lion Fran, Lion Pat, and Lion Nancy... special praise!  To chili chef Lion Veronica ... muchas gracias!  To chili participant and "pickle master" Lion Magic
Marty many thanks!  To political chili makers Lions Jodi Rell and Ray Lubus a special salute.  To our favorite competing bankers, Lions Marlene and Jenn sincere thanks.  The winners were American Pie Company in the Professional Category, Lion Ray Lubus in the Political Category, and Mike Shea in the Individual Category!  Congrats to all!  Sure hope our Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Nov. 21 is as successful.  Tickets are now available for sale at $10.  An antique doll demo will complete the evening.  Free doll appraisals will be given.  Lion Bob once again chairs this event.  Lion Nancy Beck has completed our first club brochure.  Extremely professional!  Thank you, Nancy!

The Social Services Committee, chaired by Lion Lovie, is sponsoring two needy families and a "Giving Tree".  Please sign up to add joy to the holidays of those less fortunate.  A magical show for "special" little people will highlight our holiday season.  This event takes place on Sat. Dec.14 at the New Fairfield Firehouse from noon-2 PM.  The Candlewood Lions Club proudly welcomes its first International Lion, Suzanne Lam-Huber of Switzerland, who was inducted by Past District Governor Lion Bob Gyle in a candlelight ceremony.  Lion Suzie's late father, Dr. Karl Huber, was the President of Switzerland for 14 years.  She speaks five languages, is a professional translator, and a longtime family friend.  I am proud to be her sponsor.  Congratulations, Lion Suzie!
